AUTHOR! AUTHOR!
I specialize in services for writers. I am an experienced writer myself, and that gives me an insider's knowledge about the unique needs of writers.
Because I exceed Editorial Freelancers Association standards for speed and accuracy, I can often critique and proof- read your manuscript in less time than it takes other editorial services.
You would normally pay an editorial service between $1,200-$2,800 (or more!) for an in-depth critique, proofread, and edit of a standard double-spaced 400 page manuscript. My charges generally range between $900-$2,000 for the same service, based on the skill of the author.
NEWSLETTERS
No time to write an e-newsletter for your fans? No time to design and write an honest-to-goodness hold-in-your-hand newsletter? What about your annual Christmas newsletter? Or maybe you just want to do a one-time promo newsletter.
Let me help you. Newsletters are a true labor of love for me. Unlike professional graphics designers, I'm dirt cheap and I'll work my fingers to the bone for you.
RESEARCH
Authors love research. It's fun, they learn all kinds of fascinating things, and it increases their knowledge. And there's always the joy of discovering those priceless little gems you can use in your story. But research is time-consuming, and writers are famous for going down unrelated side-paths because they are interesting. Before you know it, you've wasted half a day. Hiring a research assistant means you might miss those little gems that pop up now and then, right? Well, I'm both a writer and a researcher, and I have an intuitive ability to recognize a gem when I see it, and pass it on to the author, along with the results of my research.
DROWNING IN FAN MAIL?
Are you an author with so much fan mail you can't keep up? If so, I can help you with that.
In addition, I have a portfolio of support material to send to those fans who want help getting published, or want you to read their manuscripts, <g>
ORGANIZATION R US
I'm the queen of organization, so if you have a fan mailing list that needs to be updated (or just a box full of battered envelopes with return addresses) I'll organize them into a sortable spread- sheet which can also be used for mail merges when you do a mailing.
GIRL FRIDAY
Do you sometimes wish you had someone who would do those little jobs you never have time for? Think about all the things I can do for you!
If you've ever said, "I wish I had someone to help me with (insert name of job)" well, now you have someone!
There's virtually no limit to what I can do for you.

"Sherrie Holmes is knowledgeable in all aspects of communication, thorough and sensitive. She provides insightful, conscientious, and timely editing services at a reasonable cost. Besides, she's fun to work with!" Judith Laik Multi-published author http://www.judithlaik.com
"Sherrie Holmes is a very helpful resource person for all writing matters. She has a wonderful story sense and can help with plotting and character issues, but she is equally knowledgeable about grammar and usage. Having been in critique groups with her for nearly twelve years now, I trust her instincts completely. There aren't many people who can teach and "do." Sherrie is both a gifted writer as well as an encouraging and senstive guide of the writing process in others. (Except for her pink Flair pen and the somewhat obsessive-compulsive personality regarding punctuation!) I recommend her wholeheartedly."
